Developing
New Communities of Faith
Eastminster
Presbytery will research locations, establish New Ministry
Teams, develop funding proposals, call pastoral leadership,
for at least three new communities of faith.
Resourcing/Supporting
Partner Congregations
Eastminster
Presbytery will increase its provision of human, program,
and financial resources to Sessions and congregations who
are, or who are willing, to be about the business of training
and empowering laypersons to govern the church and to develop
and implement mission in the congregation, in and with their
communities, and in the world.
Renewed
Ministry
Eastminster Presbytery will identify
one congregation per year for redevelopment based upon renewed
vision; and after consultation and negotiation with the Session
of the congregation, will provide expertise and financial
support to assist the congregation in changing its mission/ministry
to greater relevancy to its community and thus effectiveness
as apostles of Jesus Christ.

Church
Support
Eastminster Presbytery will
provide specific and intentional ways and means by which the
mission and ministry of the whole church, as well as our ecumenical
partners, will be interpreted and supported with prayer, personal
service, and financial resources in order to affirm by increased
awareness linkages and interdependence within the Church and
with creation.
Justice
and Mercy
Eastminster Presbytery
will work with denominational, ecumenical, social, and governmental
organizations/agencies for justice and mercy, seeking to be
an agent for abundant life for all of God’s people;
and provide support and networking to assist individual congregations
in developing creative ministries dealing with the justice
and mercy implications of the Gospel.
Growing
with Evangelism
Eastminster Presbytery
will continue to provide organized support to Sessions which
have declared themselves to be intentionally growing churches,
and will continue to persuade those Sessions who have remained
silent regarding evangelism and church growth to choose to
foster evangelism and church growth.
