Personnel Committee

Members:

6 members: An equal number of Clergy/Lay, Women/Men.  A moderator is elected by the Commission from among the members.  Experience in personnel administration is helpful.

Responsibilities:

To have responsibilities similar to Presbytery's current Personnel Committee, including:

  • Review and evaluate work and job description of General Presbyter
  • Review with General Presbyter office operations
  • Recommend to Presbytery changes to compensation and job description of Presbytery employees
  • Oversee the work of the Administrative Assistant and Financial and Clerical Assistant, including hiring, periodic performance reviews, recommending terms of employment to the Presbytery, and (if necessary), separation from employment.
  • Hire contract employees and consultants as needed, for a period not to exceed one year and facilitate the separation from employment by Eastminster Presbytery, if necessary.
  • Recommend to Presbytery any extension of contract employees employment beyond one year.
